The L293D Motor Driver Shield for Arduino, also known as the Adafruit Motor Shield v1, is a versatile motor control module designed to drive up to four DC motors, two stepper motors, or two servo motors simultaneously. It features dual L293D motor driver ICs and a 74HC595 shift register, allowing efficient control of motor direction and speed with individual 8-bit selection. Operating between 4.5V to 25V and delivering up to 0.6A per channel, it includes thermal shutdown protection and internal kickback diodes for reliability.
