Light-Dependent Resistor (LDR)
Also known as a photoresistor, this is an electronic component whose resistance decreases as light intensity increases. It is commonly used in light-sensing circuits like automatic lighting systems
Dark Resistance: >1 MΩ>1MΩ
Resistance in Light: Decreases with increasing light intensity (e.g., around 0.7 kΩ0.7kΩ at 100 lux)
Peak Detection Wavelength: 540 nm to 600 nm
Maximum Voltage: Up to 250V
Power Dissipation: Maximum 200 mW200mW
Response Time: Slow, suitable for gradual changes
Common Applications:
Automatic lighting systems
security systems
light meters
smoke detectors
