Iron oxide black (synthetic) is a stable, finely divided black pigment (mainly magnetite/Fe3O4) used to give deep, permanent black color. It is insoluble, light- and weather‐fast, heat‐resistant, chemically inert, and widely used in paints, coatings, plastics, inks, rubber, concrete and industrial finishes.
Key points:
• Strong tinting strength and excellent opacity
• Good UV and weathering resistance; high heat stability
• Chemically stable and non‐bleeding; compatible with most binders
• Dust inhalation hazard in powder form—use proper PPE when handling
