mechanical switch used as a backup control to bypass or force-open electronic systems—such as electromagnetic (EM) door locks, access control systems, or machinery.
Key Functions
• Emergency Bypass: Forces a door open or cuts/completes a circuit during a power outage, reader failure, or system malfunction.
• Contact Switching: Typically features Normally Open (NO), Normally Closed (NC), and Common (COM) output contacts that toggle state when the key is turned.
• Security & Access Control: Prevents unauthorized users from triggering the override since a physical key is required to operate the switch.
