The material shown in your photos is plywood. Plywood is an engineered wood board made by bonding several thin layers (called veneers) of wood together with the grain direction alternating between layers.
🔹 Main characteristics
Strong and durable – the crossed grain structure gives it good strength.
Stable – less likely to warp or split than a solid wood board of similar size.
Available in different thicknesses – common sizes include 4 mm, 6 mm, 9 mm, 12 mm, 15 mm, 18 mm and 21 mm.
Large standard sheets – often around 1220 × 2440 mm (4 × 8 ft), although other sizes are available.
Easy to cut and work with – suitable for carpentry, furniture and construction.
Different grades are available depending on the quality of the wood veneers and bonding.
