Spark plug is a vital component of a gasoline-powered internal combustion engine. Its primary function is to deliver an electric current from the ignition system to the combustion chamber, where it creates an electric spark across a small gap ስፓርክ ፕለጎች (Spark Plugs)** ናቸው፤ በተለይም ስፓርክ ፕለግ በቤንዚን በሚሰሩ የውስጥ ማቃጠያ ሞተሮች (Internal Combustion Engines) ውስጥ እጅግ ወሳኝ ክፍል ነው። ዋና ስራውም ከኢግኒሽን ሲስተም የሚመጣውን የኤሌክትሪክ ሃይል ወደ ሞተሩ የማቃጠያ ክፍል (combustion chamber) በማድረስ፣ በሁለት ኤሌክትሮዶች መካከል ብልጭታ (spark) በመፍጠር የነዳጅ እና የአየር ቅልቅል እንዲቀጣጠል ማድረግ ነው። ይህ ቅነጻጠል ነው ሞተሩን የሚያንቀሳቅሰውን ጉልበት ቁጥር 8 የሚያሳየው ሙቀትን በፍጥነት የማስወገድ አቅም ያለው (colder type) መሆኑን ነው። ይህ ደግሞ ሞተሩ ከፍተኛ ሙቀት በሚፈጥርበት ጊዜ ወይም ለረጅም ጊዜ ስራ ሲበዛበት የተረጋጋ እንዲሆን ይረዳል።
